Time to take the bull by the horns! We bring to you our series of regular speed boosters ‘SBI-2020’

The new SBI Clerk brings with itself a fresh start to another new year of banking exams. With a twist in the Prelims, a lot can be expected and borne in mind while preparing. It’s always good to keep the basics right and strategize well as only completing the syllabus won’t be of use. So, follow our posts regularly and try various possible patterns that will help you strategize well and improve and work on your weak areas. The following section is a typical Maths Section that can be seen in a Clerical Prelims level paper.

• The section has 35 Questions as per the SBI Clerk Exam Pattern. You must complete the sections within 20 minutes
• Each question in this test carries 1 mark. Wrong answers will fetch 0.25 negative marks
• Directions for answering the questions are given before each group of questions. Read the directions carefully and answer the questions that follow. There is only one correct answer to each question

Directions (1-3): Read the information given below and answer the questions that follow:

At 12 noon, I am 14th in the queue at a movie ticket counter. The queue increases at the rate of 1 person every minute and the counter clerk takes 3 minutes to entertain a person. There is one lady after every 2 men in the queue. The lunch break of 15 minutes is at 12:30 pm. The first person is a male and the person behind me is a woman. The ratio of the male to female gets interchanged after the 15th person. At 12:02 pm and at 12:04 pm women join the queue. The fourth lady takes two tickets (i.e. 6 minutes)

Q.1 At what time shall I be at the counter?
Q.2 Where will I be at 12:30 pm, if the third lady decides to take two tickets?

Q.4 Samrin has 13 cards of the same suit. Q.5 Two trains leave a junction at the same time, one travelling North and the other travelling West. One of them runs at a speed of 12 Kmph more than the other. If after two hours from the start, they are 120 Km apart, then the speed of the slower train is?
Q.6 When a surveyor moves along the periphery of a rectangular field at a constant rate, it takes him thrice as long to move along one edge as compared to the other. If the area of the field is 2700 m², then what is the cost of fencing it along the boundary @ Rs. 16 per m?
Q.7 In an examination M obtained 20% more than S but 10% less than R. If the marks obtained by S are 1080, find the percentage marks obtained by R if the full marks are 2000.

Q.9 A can do some work in 24 days, B can do the same in 32 days and C can do it in 60 days. They start working together and A leaves after 6 days and B leaves after 8 days. How many more days are required to complete the whole work?
Q.10 A dishonest milkman mixed 1 litre of water for every 3 litres of milk and thus made up 36 litres of milk. If he now adds 15 litres of milk to the mixture, find the ratio of milk and water in the new mixture?
